John McDowell's skills as a mediator come from successfully mediating hundreds of cases and over thirty-five years of experience as a labor & employment, personal injury, commercial and general litigation attorney representing plaintiffs and a wide variety of defendants, including individuals, small to medium-sized companies, Fortune 500 companies and insurance carriers.

John focused his career on resolving cases and achieving the best results for his clients. Most of John's experience has been in representing plaintiffs and management in all types of labor & employment litigation, including cases involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the California Fair Employment & Housing Act, the California Family Medical Leave Act, breach of contract, fraud, defamation, wage & hour, trade secret, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, covenant not to compete and ERISA. Additionally, John has extensive experience interviewing witnesses and conducting workplace investigations, which adds to his understanding of the witness credibility issues involved at mediation.

John also has substantial experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of personal injury, products and premises liability and commercial litigation matters.

John's background also includes working for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies for nearly a decade as house counsel and as an Employment Practices and Directors & Officers Claims Examiner. He understands the various issues that are involved when insurance coverage is present.
